Make your own mayo!

All you need to make your own mayonnaise at home is an immersion blender and a jar!  When you put the blender in the bottom, the oil gets slowly sucked in at the perfect rate for the emulsion to occur and the result is perfect, creamy mayo every time.  Once you’ve made your own, you won’t go back to the store bought stuff in the squeezy bottles!  Best of all it only takes a matter of minutes.

1 egg
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
Juice of half a lime
Pinch of salt
1 cup olive oil (not extra virgin)


1)      Add the egg, mustard, juice and salt to a wide mouth jar or cup.

2)      Gently poor the oil on top.

3)      Leave to settle for a minute or two.

4)      Place an immersion blender at the bottom of the jar and turn it on.

5)      As the mayo begins to form, lift the blender slowly and gently.

6)      Once at the top, move the blender up and down a few more times to ensure all of the oil is emulsified, and you’re done!
