Chocolate & Banana Slice

This is one of my favourite sweet treats when I am craving something that tastes naughty but isn’t full of sugar and other nasties!  A total winner if you’re going to a dinner party and are in charge of bringing something for dessert too, just note it should be kept cold 😉

1/2 cup dates
1 cup almond meal
1 cup melted coconut oil
1 Tbsp almond butter
2 cups shredded coconut
2 bananas
1/4 cup cacao powder

1. Line your baking tray with baking paper.
2. Add the almond meal, melted coconut oil, almond butter, shredded coconut and bananas to a food processor and blend until smooth.
3. Press 3/4 of the mixture into the tray and place in the freezer.
4. Add the cacao, a splash of water and the dates to the remaining mixture and process until smooth.
5. Once the other mixture has set, pour this across the top forming the chocolate layer.
6. Place the tray back into the freezer and allow to set fully (best left overnight).
